Owner and operator Mark Zucchero opened the first Flying Point Surf & Sport store in 1996 on Main Street in Southampton, New York. Nine years later, Mark's wife Shannon Zucchero, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, came aboard to help grow the business. In 2007 the couple opened "F.P. in the Harbor", located on Main Street in Sag Harbor. By the following spring, the Southampton store had outgrown its space and the Zuccheros acquired another location two doors down. Splitting their inventory between the neighboring stores, they created an all mens surf and skate store and what remains the only women's surf boutique in America.
In 2009, the Zuccheros opened Flying Point Sunglass Studio in Sag Harbor, which carries both designer and sport brands. Due to the success of the sunglasses studio, they decided to expand the men's Southampton location in the winter of 2010 to accommodate a Tommy Bahama mini boutique, a sunglass Boutique and a fully outfitted men's apparel and sports store. This year, two more locations were added -- Flying Point Groms, an all kids surf and skate shop located in Southampton, and Flying Point Premium Surf in Bridgehampton, which sells surf apparel and accessories. Since the opening of the first store fifteen years ago, Flying Point Surf & Sport has remained dedicated to its customers, offering the best service and the highest quality products in the industry.
